A class fireproof modified polystyrene has passed the detection by National Supervision and Inspection

Recently, fireproof modified polystyrene developed by CTON has passed the detection by National Supervision and Inspection Center of Fireproof Building Material.

 

Test results show that the combustion performance can reach A level, smoke toxicity produced can reach to ZA1 level. All the indexes meet the requirements of relevant standards.

 

According to relevant regulations, all the building with heavy population must adopt A class fire resistance insulation material. Residential above 100 meters should take A class refractory material. Residential building below 100 meters can use B1 class insulation material ,but the pre-condition is that the refractory integrity of window and door should up to 30 minutes. But The lack and immature of this kind of board in the market make the applications of A class  fireproof insulation material expand quickly.

 

Traditionally, there are many defections and shortcomings about the rock wool in water resistance , safety ,insulation performances ,etc..

 

So, along with the development of A class modified EPS polystyrene, and drawbacks solved, a class modified EPS will have broad market space.
